Established in 1911, the University’s ground-breaking research, quality academic staff and state-of-the-art facilities combine to offer a vibrant student experience.
The world’s foremost ranking agency - The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) has ranked UWA 91st overall in the world and 26th (highest in Australia) for Life and Agricultural Sciences.
UWA is the only Western Australian university to belong to the prestigious Group of Eight - a coalition of the top research universities in Australia - and it is one of only two Australian members of the Worldwide Universities Network, a partnership of 18 research-led universities from Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific.
This high standard is reflected in the success of UWA staff and graduates who include Nobel Prize winners, a former Prime Minister, Six Australian Ambassadors to China and over 100 Rhodes Scholars.
With almost 24,000 students enrolled across nine faculties. A model of broad undergraduate studies followed by postgraduate professional qualifications has been designed to produce well-rounded graduates, as well as provide additional entry opportunities for a wider range of students.
A UWA degree will link you with an international reputation of graduates who are creative, original and enterprising. The 2013 edition of the Good Universities Guide gave UWA five stars in all three areas of graduate achievement, including getting a job, graduate outcomes and graduate starting salaries.
